“ Meeting of Electric City Transit Bus Powered by Zinc Air Fuel Cell” in Shanghai

Shanghai, China – On September 29, 2005, Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission held a Meeting of Electric City Transit Bus Powered by Zinc Air Fuel Cell in Shanghai , including Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission, Shanghai Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Shanghai Municipal Construction & Transportation Commission, Shanghai Municipal Tourism Commission, Shanghai Urban Transportation Administration Bureau, Shanghai Urban Planning Bureau, Shanghai Environment Protection Bureau, Powerzinc Electric Inc. and some other representatives of ministries and companies.

During the meeting, the CEO of Powerzinc introduced the technology of zinc air fuel cell and products, especially on DQFC series for electric city transit bus and also provided its economic analysis report.

The inventors and engineers for the bus were also among participants of this meeting. They discussed its concepts as wells as issues of commercialization.

During the meeting, all the representatives expressed their willingness to strongly support the project of “Electric City Transit Bus Powered by Zinc Air Fuel Cell”, and Municipal Development & Reform Commission also invited Shanghai Volvo Automobile Factory to explore to possibilities of collaboration with Powerzinc. In addition, it was agreed to have another follow up meeting to discuss more details on application of ZAFC on Electric City Transit Bus in mid-October 2005. Until then, Powerzinc will submit proposals on commercially using ZAFC electric city transit bus on scales of 10, 100 and 1000 buses.

In the end, all participants toured on electric city transit bus powered by Powerzinc’s zinc air fuel cell in downtown Shanghai and personally experienced the high energy and capacity of electric city transit bus.
