With the coordination
of Guangdong ProvInce Electric Vehicle Project Office,
Powerzinc has entered into an agreement with Shenzhen
Minghua Environmental Protection Vehicle Co., Ltd. to
jointly develop zinc air fuel cell bus. The parties will
develop a mid-size all-Electric bus with Powerzinc's zinc air fuel cell technology. A 30-day field testing and evaluation
in Shanghai should be completed by early November 2002.
Under the terms of the agreement, if the e-bus passes
the tests, Minghua will place follow-on orders for Powerzinc's
zinc air fuel cells to power 20 transit buses for a fleet
to be operated in city of Shenzhen. The company also agrees
to sign a conditional purchase agreement for additional
zinc air fuel cells to power 350 Electric buses if the
field tests on the first zinc air bus come out satisfactory.
