Shanghai, China ¨C On September 3rd, 2005, the
member of State Council, the leader of Coordination Office of China National
Clean Automobile Movement and the former Secretary-General of Ministry of
Science & Technology, Mr. Shi Ding Huan visited Powerzinc (Shanghai) Electric
Inc. After Mr. Richard Yang, the President and CEO of Powerzinc reported our own
self-developed Zinc Air Fuel Cell technologies and products, Mr. Shi Ding Huan
toured on China¡¯s first electric city transit bus powered by Zinc Air Fuel Cell
and experienced its practical functions.
Concluding this visit, Mr. Shi pledged to inform that Coordination Office of
China National Clean Automobile Movement to hold the meeting in Shanghai at the
end of October or the beginning of November for promoting zinc air fuel cell
electric city transit bus nationwide. The purpose is to save the energy crisis
and enhance the construction of harmonious society.
Having inspected the equipment production lines in the plant, Mr. Shi emphasized
the imperative importance of to having a standard manufacturing processes of
Zinc Air Fuel Cell in China, which was a major issued concerned the Ministry of
Science & Technology. Mr. Shi fully approved to the Powerzinc¡¯s achievements on
establishing the first set of national manufacturing standards and equipment of
production lines. Afterwards, Mr. Shi also gave some important instructions
pertaining industrializing Zinc Air Fuel Cells in China on electric city transit
bus applications.
*Coordination Office of China National Clean Automobile Movement is formed by
Ministry of Science and Technology, State Environment Protection Administration,
The Original State Planning Commission. State Economic & Trade Commission,
National Machinery Administration and other thirteen ministries and departments
of Chinese Government, and the purpose of this formation is to accomplish the
¡±air purification project¡ªclean automobile motion¡±. This organization is
responsible to implement the national clean automobile motion plan, to reinforce
with the national clean automobile movement, to coordinate of each ministry and
department into the team work, to examine and approve the clean automobile
movement demonstration project, to supervise the progress of demonstration, to
demonstrate the progress of movement ,to organize each kind of international and
domestic high level technological exchange, and to report the progress of
movement to State Council.
